Kanon is a guest house composed of 2 Japanese traditional buildings each approximately 120 years old.
We’ll try our best to make a comfortable space where our guests may rest.

We’ve prepared a “a whole building plan” so you can enjoy the stay in the Japanese traditional house in multiple ways.
2 buildings with 2 very different environments. Stay in a Japanese traditional house as if you’re in your own vacation home.
Hygienic kitchen, shower room, and toilet included.
The lawn connected to the floor and dadami room is an adequate venue for garden parties and BBQ – it also is a pleasant location for children to play with pets.

It’s neither surrounded by tourist attractions nor is it surrounded by the wild nature. But there is a village which makes you feel as if you’ve returned home. 20 minutes to the historic town of Nara and 30 minutes to Nanba, Osaka, Kanon is located in a serene village with convenient access to transport.
Around Kanon, there are terraced farms and relics, as well as there are special restaurants and shops only available in Ikoma. Around the walking trails near Kanon, there are bamboo forests of Tokurin-ji Temple which worships a Buddhist monk Gyoki in the Nara period, Ikoma shrine where you can feel the typical feeling of being in Japan, and 300 years old brewery which makes Japanese traditional alcohol.
If you want to hike, you can hike along the “Kuragari-toge Pass” in Mt. Ikoma, awarded best 100 old roads in Japan, and see the panorama of Osaka, awarded the Cool Japan award in 2019.

It takes 1 hours with 2 transfers via train to Kyoto. If you are staying in Kyoto and coming back to Kanon, we can keep your luggages on request. (except passports and other valuables)

Pets also are beloved members of the family.
You may spend your time with your family, having meals together or playing games together as comfortably as at home.
Tatami made of natural materials and nature-friendly traditional architecture provides a space enjoyable for both people and pets.
You may enjoy tea-times or BBQ in the garden where pleasant breeze blows.
Please spend meaningful and memorable time with your loved pets.
Attention
In order to maintain a pleasant environment free of territorial marks, we request you to use manner belts “at all times”.
Please refrain from sleeping with your pets on the beddings. If you please to sleep with your dogs or if you have a cat with you, we request you to kindly bring your own bed cover or beddings with you.
Pets other than dogs and cats can stay if brought with a cage. Regarding the details, please contact us before booking.
Since this is a guest house where many different guests stay, we’d like to check and discuss about the habits and traits of your pets before booking.
